Something that I’m sure everyone can agree on is the positive feeling that one gets when an important task is accomplished. Although no new graphics have been added along with this post, I feel it is necessary to announce that I have made changes to my “Freebies” section. Nearly every page has been revamped, making it easier to see all of the information and graphics displayed on the page. It also looks a lot more streamlined now. Some of the pages, specifically the backgrounds and mini-blogs pages, were extremely hard to navigate through and get a clear perspective of the graphics that I’ve created. I guess the way I had it set up before was just too jumbled together and made everything look sloppy, or you had to click on each thumbnail in order to even see what the graphic looked like. Now my graphics are clearly displayable for all of my viewers to see and use freely (as long as they follow my Terms of Use of course) I find this new setup inspiring–expect to see some new graphics soon! What do you think of the new look of these pages?
 
Aside from the web world, we should all think about reorganizing the things around us–the things that are essential to our daily lives. Not only does it make everyday go smoother, but one also experiences the great feeling of enjoyment of the things around. Accomplishment can arise just by making simple changes from time to time. Just some food for thought, but maybe it’s just the strive to make everything better and improve the things that we already do well that creates joy in our lives.

I was playing around with abstract designs in Paint Shop Pro and was inspired to make a new graphic. I really liked how it looked so I posted it on my website for use as a background. If you click the image, you can preview and get the code directly from this post! It’s also displayed under the “Freebies” section on the backgrounds page. I put the new ones at the top of the page so that they’re the first ones seen by viewers.
 
As far as comments go, 13,612 waiting to be approved… whoa! Sorry I’m taking so long to approve them.

I’ve been approving, spamming, and reading through comments like crazy and I’ve gotten around to responding to some of them. Currently I have 13,362 comments still waiting to be approved so if your comment isn’t up yet, please be patient. I’m trying to get to everyone as fast as I can. For those of you who have been patiently waiting, I’ve gotten around to responding to many of the comments in which questions were asked. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the comments, I have addressed everyone’s needs. Keep in mind that I have addressed multiple people in certain comments, but if you look for the name you used you can read my response to the question you specifically asked.

Many of the comments have been requests for link exchanges/affiliation. If this is something that you are serious about, please contact me directly. My comments pile up more than I can read/approve them and sometimes it is hard to find the genuine requests through the spam. This post is for those of you who have been wondering on the status of the site–since I have not updated in a few months. The site was at a stand still for a bit, mainly because of the fact that my Internet cut in and out all the time and I have been unable to sit down and get a good minute to update the site. Finally I gave in and rented one of those modems from the service provider, so if it ends up not working again it will be their responsibility to replace it. I noticed that the internet bill went up substantially which I thought was a pain since I wasn’t even able to consistently search the web.
 
The graphic project that I started working on also went to a stand still when I got in a car accident a little while ago during the storms in Washington State. This caused very much stress, in work life and in everyday life. The good news, however, is now I have the proper tools to progress on the graphic project. It does require me to drive a little, as I do not use stock images in my graphics and take all the pictures I use myself. At least now I can make progress…
 
As of now, I have 10,791 comments waiting to be approved, so if you must contact me and get a reply you will have to e-mail me. Information about how to do this can be found on the contact page. I’ve noticed that since my internet has been down I have gotten a load of new visitors, and I really appreciate the support and patience from all of you!

I have been very busy with work and life lately that I have not hardly had the time to update my own website and rarely had the time to create graphics (they’re coming along, though… and I think you’re in for a pleasant surprise!)
 
I have to make sure that the next graphic project–I already gave you a sneak preview in my last post–is perfect before I release it. For now, enjoy all of the freebies currently available!

Many of you may have expected this because of the lack of updates–my computer finally broke for good. Fortunately for Ashley-Lauren.net, I was able to save all of my data using an 1TB external hard drive that I was able to aquire before it died. Personally, I think that External Hard Drives are a worthwhile investment because it provides extra protection of your files (ESPECIALLY if you design websites or create graphics). They also come with way more room and provide extra flexibility for an affordable price. I would recommend Seagate’s GoFlex drive which is super portable and comes with plenty of space. It has been working great ever since I bought it, and I have been saving all of my files directly from my new computer to my external hard drive for peace of mind.
 

 
On another note, I haven’t been able to look through and read all of my comments as quickly as I get them. If I have not yet approved your comment please be patient, I will get to it. Just to make things clear, if you contact me and want to receive a response right away you MUST e-mail me directly using the e-mail form! I read and check those daily, but unfortunately I receive so many comments daily (spam or non-spam) that I do not have the time to sift through them as fast as I would like to.
 
So far I have been able to install Paint Shop Pro on my new computer and I have a cool new graphic idea in mind. It’s a surprise, but here is a little sneak preview!

I’m going to take the time in this post to mention some good and bad news to my viewers. Bad news is that–oh no–my computer broke! It wasn’t turning on, so I figured it was something wrong with the hard drive of the computer.. if this was the case, all of my web files would have been lost. Don’t worry though, the good news is that it was only the screen that broke and I was able to easily fix this with an external monitor.
 
I’ve just added some new abstract backgrounds which you can find here. I’m adding all of the new graphics that I make before all of the old ones, so they will be the first ones you see. With past websites (such as Ashleyland) I have added all new graphics to the bottom of the page. I guess I just got bored looking at the same ones every time…

I’m going to try to find some time tonight to approve all of the comments I’ve gotten since my computer broke, if I don’t get to your comment right away, please be patient. It takes a while to sift through all the spam and reply to the approved comments… I have 777 of them to look through!

So I’ve finally gotten caught up with all the comments to approve, and I have replied to most of them. If you asked a question in the form of a comment, check the post you commented for a response! I tried to reply to everyone, but if I somehow managed to miss your question feel free to comment again. Weeding out the spam and approving the comments gets a little hectic after letting them pile up for a few days.
 
I also got around to clearing out inactive affiliates or affiliates who were not following my terms for affiliation. If your site matches the criteria and you would like to be affiliated with Ashley-Lauren.net, apply using the contact form as I am currently accepting applications for affiliation due to the fact that I had to take down a few links. Affiliates–if you want to use the same Ashleyland buttons, feel free to do so. I am going to post them on the “Link to Me” page just so people have the option to use them if they’d please. Of course, I’d have them linking to Ashley-Lauren.net, as Ashleyland doesn’t exist anymore!
 
Expect more graphics soon, I have been very busy this past week training for a new full-time job so I haven’t been making them as frequently.

I have finally gotten all of the content from both Ashleyland and Creation University up on this site. I have also notified all affiliates of Ashleyland and have completely shut down both of the sites. Don’t worry, you can still access all of the content right here on Ashley-Lauren.net! If you have noticed, you can still adopt the “Fun Guys” when you type the URL for the old Ashleyland… I had to leave them, since they were native to Ashleyland.
 
Also, I have also made it so that when you complete the courses (that were once on Creation University but can now be found under “Tutorials”) you will be able to comment and ask any questions right there on the page! I figured this would make it easier for people to follow along and learn what they need to know.

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve added any content at all, and I’m sure many of you were starting to wonder what happened to me. The process of combining all of my websites into one big website was cut short when I lost internet access. I have recently installed my own internet access in my house, so now I will be able to finish the transfer process of Ashleyland and Creation University and work on the site. This also means more blogs and content!
  
I’m sorry about the inconvenience, expect all the content up very shortly. Affiliates of Ashleyland– expect to receive an e-mail soon, I will be sending one out when all of the Ashleyland content has been transferred over.
